This project focused on enhancing brand clarity and digital presence for a California-based startup by developing a cohesive visual identity informed by audience preferences, market trends, and competitor research. Through usability testing and cross-departmental collaboration, I designed simplified, modern visuals that strengthened brand consistency across digital platforms.

I designed digital assets, social media content, and website mockups that aligned with brand guidelines, ensuring a cohesive and engaging visual identity. My process included brand research, concept development, and collaborative refinement, leading to a polished, modern aesthetic. Through execution and optimization, I simplified visuals for clarity, consistency, and stronger audience engagement.

Design

The process began with an in-depth analysis of the startup’s existing brand identity, competitor platforms, and target audience to identify opportunities for differentiation. I then explored layouts, color schemes, and typography through concept development, ensuring alignment with the brand’s mission and user expectations. Working closely with marketing and product teams, I refined designs based on feedback, ensuring consistency across social media, website interfaces, and promotional materials. Finally, I simplified complex visuals, creating a clear, engaging, and visually compelling experience for the platform’s audience.

Development

I developed branding across web and social platforms, crafting a unified visual identity that seamlessly adapted to each platform’s unique format and audience expectations. This involved designing consistent yet flexible brand elements, ensuring that colors, typography, and graphic styles aligned across digital touchpoints.

On social platforms, I tailored content to match the specific style and user behavior of each channel. I also refined messaging to maintain a cohesive brand voice, ensuring that every interaction reinforced brand recognition and user trust. Through this strategic approach, I strengthened the brand’s digital presence, clarity, and audience connection across multiple platforms.

Takeaway

Difficult topics need thoughtful design. This project showed me that good visual work can make uncomfortable subjects easier to approach without making them superficial. The design creates the entry point. The content does the rest.


My work earned the Pearl Spotlight Award for Execution, recognizing both the quality of the visual system and its role in supporting a successful product rollout.
